Giro Cachepots

Giro cachepots with a self-watering solution are an innovative product by Rompicato, adding to our range of home and interior design items

Giro self-watering cachepots

Rompicato’s self-watering cachepots are a late addition
to the brand’s range of home and interior design items.
Standing out from the familiar flower cachepots made
of plastic, glass, or ceramics, they are manifactured from
eco leather, making an otherwise regular item unique
and offering numerous opportunities to turn it into
a stylish addition to the interior.

The product includes the actual cachepot with an eco
leather exterior, an inside pot for the plant, and a wick
cord for the watering. To water the plant, all you need
to do is take out the inside pot, pour the required amount
of water into the cachepot and place the plant back in; alternatively, you can just water it the regular way. The soil
in the pot will remain moist thanks to capillary wicking.

The cachepot is water-resistant, has no odour and does
not get sun-bleached thanks to its UV protection. Its exterior requires no special care: simply dust or wipe it like you do
when cleaning other items.

How does a wick cord work?
Any excess of water resulting from watering the plant seeps through the soil and ends up at the bottom of the cachepot. As the soil gradually dries up, the wick cord absorbs this water and brings it back up to the pot, keeping the soil moist for an extended time.

This system helps fight the consequences of excess watering (such as associated damage to the roots), as well as reduce the frequency of watering the plant to once in one or two weeks (depending on how hydrophilic the plant is).

How do I plant something into Rompicato’s new self-watering wick-cord cachepot?
  • 1. Prepare the cachepot
Pick a place and prepare the inside pot. Fill one half or third of it with soil. Do not press the wick to the bottom of the pot.
  • 2. Prepare the plant
Take the plant out of its current pot by holding it upside down and securing the stem with your fingers gently. Check the roots for damage if necessary.
  • 3. Secure the plant
Place the plant in the centre of the new pot and make sure it is strictly vertical. Securing it gently, distribute the soil evenly aroud it.
  • 4. You’re awesome!
Place the inside pot into the eco leather cachepot and water it. You’re all set!
